Public works foreman
In preparation for the retirement of the Public Works Superintendent, Madison Township has an open position for Public Works Foreman. Desired qualifications include a current class A - CDL with extensive snow and ice removal experience, solid leadership skills, and excellent communication skills. This position requires daily interaction with the public, employees, supervisors, and Elected Officials.
Madison Township (unincorporated) has almost 11,000 residents, is responsible for 40.132 road miles, 800 storm sewer catch basins, mowing of rural roads/ditches, and has a combined 4-fund budget of $598,000. The Township has curbed and non-curbed subdivisions, along with rural roads, and works closely with our neighboring Cities of Canal Winchester and Groveport, along with the Franklin County Engineer Department. The Foreman will oversee 4 full-time and 1-weekend employee, and communicate with an additional full-time multi-department employee.
Madison Township, (Franklin County) Ohio, is seeking a qualified candidate for the full-time Public Works Foreman. The salary range is $39.00 to $42.31 per hour, depending on qualifications, training, and experience. Work hours are Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Emergency and winter weather callouts, and evening and weekend events and meetings are required, as needed. Benefits include Medical, Rx, dental, vision, hearing, life insurance, and employee assistance program, effective the date of hire. Vacation and sick time accrual based on years of service. Twelve (12) paid holidays after 6 months and longevity after one year. OPERS pension system with a Township pension pick-up of 10%. This position is exempt.

Patrol officer
Madison Township, (Franklin County) Ohio is seeking candidates for the position of Patrol Officer. Madison Township is one of seventeen (17) townships situated in the southeast corner of Franklin County, bordered by Fairfield and Pickaway Counties. The annual salary range for this position is $63,689.60 - $88,108.80 with a 4% contract increase each of the next two years. Lateral Transfers may start at step A or higher on the wage scale. This position is classified as non-exempt/bargaining. Preference is given to bi-lingual, veterans, or social worker applicants.
Department:
Madison Township Police Department was established in 1972 and has provided policing services with integrity, honor, respect, and professionalism to the residents of Madison Township for fifty years. The department has an authorized strength of 22 sworn officers for 2024 and is directed by a Police Chief, and supervised by a Patrol Commander, and three Patrol Sergeants. In addition, the department has three School Resource Officers (SRO), and three companies of Patrol Officers.

The current population of the township is estimated by the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commissions at 26,596 including 10,773 residents and 4,269 housing units in unincorporated portions of the township. The township encompasses an area of 40.6 square miles. In 2023, Township officers handled 3,647 dispatched calls, 35,753 Calls for Service, and logged 190,431 patrol miles in Madison Township.
