Fire Stations
The Madison Township Fire Department has been in our community more than 50 years.
The Department provides fire, rescue, and EMS services to Madison Township which includes the Cities of Canal Winchester, Groveport and areas of Columbus, Lithopolis, Obetz and Pickerington. Our coverage area is approximately 42 square miles. It is comprised of three stations and responds to more than 11,000 runs each year.
The Department hosts an annual Open House each year in October at Station 182 on Gender Road and Station 183 on Noe-Bixby Road. This is an opportunity for the community to visit the station, see the trucks, and talk to the firefighters. We provide paramedic coverage at various sporting events for Groveport-Madison and the Canal Winchester Local School Districts each year. On Halloween, our crews are out in the trucks greeting the children and handing out candy as part of Trick or Treat. We also participate in the July 4th and Labor Day parades. Our trucks and personnel may also be seen at various special events around our community.

Built in 1985, this station is home to Engine 181, Medic 181 and Battalion 181. They are staffed by a Battalion Chief, Lieutenant and a minimum of four firefighters. A station pickup truck and a reserve battalion chief’s vehicle are stored at this location. The Fire Chief, Fire Prevention Bureau and Business Office are located here.

Built in 1996, this Station is home to Engine 182 and Medic 182. It is staffed by a Lieutenant and a minimum of four firefighters. A station pickup truck, reserve engine and medic are also stored at this station. The departments Fire Safety & Education Training House is located behind this station. The Fire Safety Education & Training House was built by our firefighters with donated materials. It is used for public education & training for our firefighters.
The departments operates two Mobile Ventilation Units (MVU) from this station. These are special call units with a large fan mounted on a trailer that can move approximately 425,000 c.f.m. of air.

Built in 2018, this Station is home to Medic 183 and Engine 183. It is staffed with a Lieutenant and five firefighters. A station pickup truck and reserve medic are stored at this Station.
